Music | The Other Side of Tomorrow | The Slakadeliqs

The Other Side of Tomorrow by Slakah the Beatchild’s alter ego The Slakadeliqs is the result of four years writing, experimenting and exploring different groups of musical influences than most would expect. For those familiar with Slakah’s usual smooth, jazzy, extremely dope hip hop-like style, will find this quite a departure from what you’re used to hearing, but I mean that in a good way. I’m not sure how to best describe the sound as you can hear multiple influences ringing throughout all fourteen tracks, it’s sort of genre ambiguous, but certainly dope.

While I can appreciate the artistry, I’m typically not a big fan of the folky, alternative bands that people generally like to “listen to” for the songwriting, and this album sort of fits into that category for me. However, there’s something about this that doesn’t bore me, something about it that is easy to listen to. More importantly, it’s necessary for an artist to step outside of his/her comfort zone, do something different, and take some chances. Perhaps, that’s what I appreciate most about this effort, I’m certain you will too.

The Other Side of Tomorrow can be downloaded for free or you can name your price and pay what you want. I know times are hard, but artists have to eat too so give what you can, if you can.
